Life Finds A Way
A rusty lock left unused
For ages and more,
Forgotten till today.
Maybe a thrifty insect
Finding the perfect
Chubby hole
To hide and store a kernel
Has sowed the way
For the resurgence of life.
How tarnished the lock looks
Corroded and blemished.
Yet the plant in stark contrast
Green , tender and soft,
Seeing the light of day
From a place so dismal.
Will it live?
Dear trusting seedling
I worry for you.
For I am sure to find you gone
When next I stop by.
Snipped by an inquisitive finger.
Or your life snuffed out
For lack of food and water.
And the corroded lock
Will remain as unattended as before
